A Letter From the Publisher

Dear Writer:

In creating Storybase 2.0, we’ve tried throughout to incorporate my own approach to constructing compelling characters and creating effective stories. It’s one learned not from theoretical teachings, but from hard-nosed professionals – and my own years of experience – a method based on what I consider to be every writer’s Mandate, no matter how lofty our literary goals:

We all want our audience to stay with us until The End – whether we’re writing prose, poetry, advertising copy, movie, stage or TV scripts. To do that, we must never forget that we’re Entertainers. And to entertain, we must give them a well-told story. That’s our challenge as writers.

Storybase 2.0, with its conflict-rich database and near-zero learning curve, is designed to work in concert with the way writers think. Characters, Mindset, Story Thrust and Situations, all loaded with the essential stuff that will grab and hold your audience – Conflict.

My ultimate testimonial for Storybase 2.0 is that I use it myself and consider it an indispensable tool, right up there with my grammar/spell check, and Thesaurus.

I think you will find it every bit as valuable.

I wish you success with, and more importantly, pleasure from your writing.

Sincerely,

Thomas B. Sawyer
